Guess what time of year it is…H-A-double L-O-W-double E-N

I didn’t even need to look at my calendar to know October is here and well underway and Halloween is next week (yikes!).  It only takes a few steps into any store or glance at an advertisement to see pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING! I am not sure if there is pumpkin flavored milk, but it doesn’t matter because you can pour yourself a glass of nutrient rich milk to accompany your pumpkin flavored goodie!

A must is to check out Heidi Harkopf’s piece on starting your day with pumpkin.

As always, I am super prepared, my house is perfectly decorated for the season and I have no stress!  HA! What a colossal joke that is! I am the exact opposite and need to start hitting the pumpkin lattes hard to get through the daily grind.

Most days this exactly how I feel!

The days of stitching together Halloween costumes is long past (which makes me a little teary) but the girls can now handle a can of spray paint on their own.  And somewhere in-between homework and school projects, the girls and I turned out a pretty cool Halloween craft.   There are endless projects you can do with recyclables.  (Check out the Must Be The Milk newsletter for craft ideas with milk jugs.)

With some festive colored spray paint and bottles out of the recycle bin, we decorated.

Apparently, I was too busy adding the finished project to my Snapchat story that I didn’t capture it on my own camera, so I just ran outside and took this photo. Super cute right!?

Even the littlest of things can be tradition and one of our Halloween traditions is making chocolate Halloween candies.  The chocolate molds we use I believe are circa 1980-something when I use to do this with my mom.  Not straying from tradition, we managed to turn out some chocolate pumpkins.

Where some people love pumpkin flavor, I love s’mores.  When I saw this Hocus Pocus-inspired s’mores pops you better believe it, these showed up alongside our chocolate pumpkins.

Now that we are slightly decorated and have a few Halloween goodies, I guess it’s time to see what Amazon Prime has in stock for H-A-double L-O-W-double E-N!
